Procedure Writing

This term our topic for writing is procedures. We Got to write a procedure and get someone to read it to make sure it is how they are doing the procedure right for instants, Sarah M was doing polka dotted nails. So Who ever was getting their nails done they had to read the procedure. Rishika and Briian did tie dying which was dying a t shirt. Levi and Taiba Taught Someone to play last card. Overall we all had a load of fun writing the procedures  and learning how to tie dye, paint nails, play last card, make your own board game, baking and cooking.

Sock monkeys By Sarah Miller

Sock Monkeys!!!!!

Last week room 12 made super cool Sock monkeys. Miss Workman was on her honeymoon (turning in to Mrs Roskam) so Mrs. D filled in for her. It took us 4 days to complete these marvellous monkeys. The first day we practised threading the string through the needle and tying 2 knots. Next we made a ball at the end of the piece of string! We cut up the sock to make all the pieces of the body. Once we made our sock monkeys we accessorised them. They are so cool i defiantly think this was one of the best thing we made this year!!!

On Wedensday the 18th of June the Senior Syndicate of Vardon School travelled to the Hamilton Observatory to have a hands on session with Space Dave.

What did we learn...

You don’t age as fast in space compared to people on earth if you are travelling fast enough

In approx 5 billion years we will need to move to another solar system due to the sun dyeing

Light years are a distance not a time

A shooting star can only stay in the sky for a short period of time and a comet will stay in the sky for weeks even a month
That betlegeuse is living its last billion years

On Friday 28th of February tabloids day was held. There were many different events and the sun was shining, so it was great. After morning tea it was time for tug of war. Everyone was cheering everyone on. Room 13 won the senior tug of war and there was also a house tug  of war and Ngata won. Overall It was a perfect day.

Kelly Sports

 Kelly sports came to Vardon school to teach us how to swim and learn new skills.

Cyber Busters

  

On the 19th of February the senior syndicate went to the hall to watch a play called cyber busters. It was about cyber bullying. Cyber bullying is saying mean things on a laptop, computer, phone and any other technology.  It was funny and it was cool how they changed character. Everyone loved it.
